The neighborhood

Oakmont Estates sits at 114th Street and Slide Road in southwest Lubbock, inside the city limits. It was established in 2012, and the first homes were finished in 2013. Its association describes tree-lined boulevards and pocket parks, and it owns about 4.9 acres of common areas across the neighborhood.

The name comes from Oakmont, Pennsylvania, where one of the partners, Ken Flagg, was born. In appraisal and listing records it appears as Oakmont Estates, with a smaller section recorded as Cove at Oakmont Estates.

Homes and lots

Homes are custom-built and date from 2013 on, with the Cove’s from 2016. Appraisal district records show homes from about 2,400 to nearly 10,000 square feet, on lots from about 8,000 square feet to more than an acre. Lots in the Cove are larger, around half an acre.

The Lubbock Central Appraisal District’s 2026 market values have a median of about $822,000. These are appraisal values, not sale prices.

The homeowners association

Oakmont Estates of Lubbock Property Owners Association is managed by Hawkize Management. Dues are $725 a year for 2026, with a $300 transfer fee when a home sells. Lots in the Cove have their own owners association as well.

The Falls Tennis & Athletic Club, at 4705 112th Street, is about 0.8 miles away. It is a membership club with indoor and outdoor tennis, pickleball, a pool and a fitness center.

United Supermarkets at 11310 Slide Road is about half a mile north, with more shops and restaurants around 114th Street and Slide Road. UMC Health and Wellness Hospital, with a 24-hour emergency center, is on Slide Road at 11011.

School district

Oakmont Estates is in Lubbock-Cooper ISD. By the district’s current zone maps it feeds Central Elementary, Laura Bush Middle School and Liberty High School (for the classes of 2027 to 2030). From the 2027-28 school year the zone feeds Laura Bush Middle School and Lubbock-Cooper High School.

For 2026 the City adopted 0.507349, up from 0.472191, and Lubbock-Cooper ISD’s proposed increase goes to its voters on November 3, 2026.
